Check Out Our New Digital Collections!

This year, our system greatly expanded our digital collections! In addition to our preexisting collections on ArkansasLibrary2Go (ebooks, audiobooks, and–as of this year–magazines), Mango language courses, DMV permit test resources, and Gale Legal Forms, we now have 4 exciting new digital collections you can check out with your card: Comics Plus, Creativebug, Hoopla, and Kanopy. You do need a card issued from our Carroll and Madison County Library system to access these resources.

Comics Plus

This collection is actually spread across 3 different platforms. Comics Plus is everything, while Comics Plus Teen and YA Library and Comics Plus Children’s Library are tailored to have age-appropriate material for teens and kids, respectively. The platforms have everything from traditional comics to manga to graphic novels, and there is no limit on checkouts.

Creativebug

If you love crafts, you will love this resource! It features video-based workshops and classes on all types of crafts and DIY projects. The videos range from the really short to the rather long and cover everything from knitting to making preserves to woodworking. Beyond the video classes, there are also dozens of themed month-long daily practice prompts you can sign up for and learning journeys that go beyond single classes to teach skills like using a Cricut or quilting. The Resources Library also includes free downloadable patterns.

Hoopla

Hoopla has a little bit of everything, from ebooks, audiobooks, and comics to music, movies, and TV series. There’s never a line for checkout, unlike our physical collection or our Arkansas2Go catalog. You are limited to 5 borrows per month, though.

Kanopy

This digital streaming platform has over 30,000 titles–lots of independent and international films and PBS/BBC TV content and documentaries. You get 6 tickets per month to use. Each streaming item on Kanopy costs a different amount of tickets, so you’ll have to pay attention to the tickets. There is also a separate Kanopy Kids platform that allows unlimited viewing of content for ages 2 to 8.

Signing up is pretty straightforward with all these platforms, but if you have any questions, please just call the library or stop by and we can help you out.

Also to streamline access, you can see Digital Collection results when you use our OPAC catalog. What does that mean? If you’re searching for something in our online catalog, you can see if it’s in our Arkansas2Go library (Libby) or Hoopla collection in the same place where you can check if a physical copy is in Berryville or one of our sister libraries.
