We hope all of our patrons and readers have a wonderful Christmas and New Year!
We will be closed today, tomorrow, and Friday for the Christmas holidays. Next week, we will close early on Wednesday, the 31st, at 4:30 pm and be closed all day Thursday for New Year’s.
You may not be able to come in, but that doesn’t mean you can’t use library resources at home!
Our digital collections, which include Libby and Hoopla, are always accessible for ebooks and audiobooks and even for select movies and TV shows.
The databases we have been exploring monthly are also accessible from home, as long as you are physically in Arkansas.
Looking forward to 2026, we will be wrapping up our Celebrate Berryville project early in the year and on the blog we will start exploring different genres and genre resources every month. That’s in addition to our regular Book Buzz and book review posts. We also have a new theme for the year we are eager to debut.
But of course, the biggest news is that our new library should open its doors midway through next year. We don’t have a specific date yet, but construction is scheduled to be complete in May. We will need time to move and set up, but it is increasingly looking like the new library should be ready for business at some point during summer reading.
It is an exciting time for us at the Berryville Public Library, and we wouldn’t be in this position if it weren’t for all the donors and volunteers who have worked so hard to make this possible.
Don’t forget that we’re still raising money for much-needed furnishings for the new building.
What are your plans for 2026? Do you have a favorite genre you would like us to feature? What are you looking forward to most in the new library? Tell us in the comments! As always, please follow this link to our online library catalog for more information on any of our items or to place them on hold.
