The 4th of July is upon us, and it’s a great chance to take some time to read one of the books on the Great American Read list and write a card catalog review for the library’s summer program and the Great Berryville Read Facebook page. 🙂
Courtesy of blogger Michelle Ross, we’ve been collecting card catalog reviews of all the Great American Read books. (Thanks so much for the wonderful idea, Michelle!) We’ve really enjoyed reading everyone’s reviews and are looking forward to more. And today we’re going to highlight some of the ones we’ve already received for your viewing pleasure!

Disclaimer: One of the above reviews is mine. Theoretical bonus points if you can guess which one.
Help us add to the collection by writing your own card catalog review (or reviews!) this summer. Our goal is to have at least one card catalog review of each book on the Great American Read list by the end of the summer, so we need some help! Your review will be published both on the Great Berryville Read Facebook page and on Michelle’s blog. This means fame and glory! (Well, that might be over the top, but we’ll appreciate your efforts.😊).
What have you been reading from the Great American Read list? What other Great American Read books are you planning to read this year? Have you written a card catalog review yet for our Facebook page? Tell us in the comments!

This is a brilliant idea! I wish my own library would do this. What book has received the most reviews thus far?

This is a great question, Jackie! I’ll have to ask our director. We’ve been informally polling people since May, and definite favorites mentioned in that included Little Women, the Count of Monte Cristo, and Gone with the Wind. It will be interesting if one of them is getting the most card catalog reviews too!
