Summer is always busy at the Berryville Library, and that’s doubly true this year as we are preparing to move into our new building later this year. In addition to our regular summer program activities of tracking reading and attending cool programs, we have a couple of unique activities for June specifically connected to our upcoming move.
The theme this year is Reading on the Move, and we are trying to see if we can read as many books as we have to move.
How many books is that exactly?
Well, we are not at liberty to say just yet. And that’s because we currently have a guessing game going.
Every time you come into the library, you can enter a guess for how many books are in the adult, teen, and children’s sections. The closest answer for each section will win a prize!

On a more nostalgic note, we also have a memory wall where people can add their favorite memories from the current library. We will be taking it with us when we move, and I have loved seeing what everyone has added. Be sure to add yours! You will be able to do so through the end of the month.

And of course, be sure to report your reading! We need to get all the help we can get because, just between me and you, in case you haven’t noticed, we have a lot of books.
Fortunately, we have a friendly readasaurus who is helping us track the weekly progress as people report the books they’ve read. Be sure to drop in every week to report reading, get prizes, and see how far the readasaurus has gotten on its journey to the new library.

How many books do you think are in the library? How many books have you read this summer? What’s your favorite library memory? Tell us in the comments!
